They are tweakers too, ya' know . Don't worry, I'm sure there will be a third party app to emulate the Control Panel if it goes away
    look up god mode

Create Control Panel All Tasks Shortcut in Windows 10

Add or Remove Control Panel All Tasks Toolbar in Windows 10

It's all the programmer's fault. It's not just MS. All companies do it. The programmers get worried they'll not be needed anymore, if they don't keep making "changes".

Like the Start Menu.. they had it RIGHT in Windows XP. Any sane MS higher up would have realized that.
Just because you want to improve an OS, doesn't mean you have to destroy the GUI in the process.

    /edit

The REAL reason they're doing it...is because of smart phones. Swipe, swipe, swipe. I don't NEED to swipe on a 30" screen. ^^

I mean, if you think about the new "Settings" menus...that's what they are...designed for a smart phone screen.
On a desktop or even a laptop, you don't NEED and endless array of 5x8 menus. You can just make big menus.

    You questioning yourself?

    Nah, probably looking for responses.

When functions are removed from the CP, the corresponding CPL is removed and renders the function in God Mode AWOL. Find SYSTEM in God Mode. Then check RAM. Goes to settings. Lots still work in the win32 apps and sub-apps. Kinda hit and miss.

    I've watched GM slowly shrink.

For no apparent reason, as the old Control Panel worked fine.
It's almost like... MS just can't leave well enough, alone.

They could have just ADDED more things to the old Control Panel. :/

I mean...it doesn't get much better than this. They HAD it right...

    Attachment 303612
It works fine for me also using Open Shell 1.6.2 to get to Device manager now takes an extra or 2 clicks as a RC on This PC takes you to Settings then device manger is on the right.

Seen it before ........ I've just opted to go with the MS flow for the most part Except for when they break stuff like Task Manager -> Startup tab Holding on 20H1 for now.

Could the repair install "save nothing only problem" be because the MCT created "Windows20H2.iso" is based on 19041.572 rather than 19042.572 and considers itself to be an older version than that already installed??

    Attachment 303606
So, the client is half updated basically, and the crucial part in distinguishing it from the previous one is partially because the new windows version is really an add on to the old version, and that is what is causing it to not function properly?
