Ok I had installed the 20H2 from the .cab file months ago. Today I noticed that the WU showed the 20H2 as an upgrade? So why not I just installed it. Wonder if that is going to allow this computer to be seen by my network now?
So now then after the earlier update to to 20H2 .844. After running the update to 20H2 My version has changed back to 20H2 .804 So I guess I'll have to install the .844 update again. I'll post back with any other changes I find.
So after reinstalling the .844 update again, I see the enablement package as an uninstall able update. Ran the uninstall on that update. it completed and I'm now back to 202h as installed with the .cab file. so no improvement and the 202H enablement packages update is not showing as downloadable in WU.

I installed the 20H2 enablement KB and it breaks Task Manager - Startup (data remains stale after a power up) just like happened a few weeks ago.

Known and Resolved issues for Windows 10 May 2020 Update version 2004

If anyone else can confirm seeing the same problem or not with 20H2, that would be great. Thanks
@f14tomcat, I know you're interested in the issue.
Dont know if its the same thing. I just clicked on the 64 bit link for 230 and it said I am already installed. But last night, probably not related, my pc refused to power down. Monitor, keys and mouse went off but pc carrying on running. I ended up switching pc off with power switch on rear. This morning it started up as normal.

I had paused the May 2021 monthly updates to see if there were issues/fixes/etc. I have now begun applying those updates, and first laptop went fine as far as I know (SFC and DISM report no issues). My laptop is my Dell D7386, 64bit, Windows 10 Home machine (I think my profile shows my other two laptops not this one.) It shows Version 19041.985.

However, I'm still running 2004, and I had decided I would finally update to 20H2 since it had been offered as an option when I did my April updates. However, it's apparently no longer an option through this method - instead I'm now offered 21H1. I don't want to jump from 2004 directly to 21H1, I'd rather still update to 20H2 first but I'm not sure how to do it.

If I click on the Enablement KB at the beginning of this thread (see snip below), will that take me to the right package to install?

Or is there some other link or KB name that will take me to the right download, and will it be obvious how to install it (or do I need those instructions)? I'm not the most technical person in the room
    @Brink
If you can point me in the right direction, I'm happy to do the homework/legwork and let you know how it goes. Thanks in advance for your help!

    P. S. I backed up all my files and created a Macrium Image on an external HDD, so if I mess up I should be able to recover.

    Hello @Laurie,

Correct. That would be the correct download to go from 2004 to 20H1.

Okay - I'll go review the initial part of this thread, click on the link, and have at it! Wheeee!

    UPDATE:
My laptop is now running version 19042.985, and both SFC and DISM ScanHealth found no issues.

The only problem I had was that, when I clicked on the link for the download, it wouldn't do anything for me. I had to copy the URL and paste it into a new window, and that method worked fine. I found Ed's Tutorial letting me know how to install a ".msu" file, and it worked like a charm.

I'm now doing the same steps (to manually upgrade to 20H2) with 2 other laptops. I'm currently updating my D5579 machine. When I manually applied the 20H2 upgrade this time, my "winver" results show the correction Version and Build, but the "Licensed To" name is now blank. (This didn't happen on machine number 1).

While I have posted in the Change Registered Owner tutorial to ask for help in fixing this (since some fields have changed), I wanted to post this Alert here so that anyone else who manually applies the same update knows to check on this on their machine before they decide they're done.
