Just got it. Downloading now! I wonder why Microsoft pushes out these updates if they don't fix bugs or change anything. Is it to clean up the pipeline?

People often think that the list of "fixed issues" is exhaustive and complete. It isn't even close to that. These are the major issues that have been reported. Every build they fix dozens if not hundreds of various little bugs they identify internally. Early in the program I was reporting a bunch of issues and at no time did any of them ever make the "fixed issue" list--but every one of those bugs was eventually fixed.

If I understand correctly it’s downloaded but not installed? Is their the button install now underneath? If you don’t want the update at all when u go back the previous build pause the updates

It's time for a Quest, #WindowsInsiders! We’re rolling out our updated touch keyboard & emoji panel designs to everyone in the Dev Channel. Try expressing yourself with emoji, symbols, and GIFs: https://aka.ms/AA9uz7b

You may need to reboot if you're not seeing the changes yet.

And people may also think what's in that list is correct. Sometimes it isn't. They put things in there and they're wrong about it, because they're relaying information from the actual technical departments (they're just the PR department) and things can be lost in translation or just botched.

    Hi there
IMO seems a bit pointless to do that type of exercise as part of a release process -- if after all these years WU still isn't working properly one really has to worry about the quality of Project control and Management at Ms.

I know one isn't forced to install updates via the Windows insider program - but surely there's always something they can do to improve the OS etc when releasing an update.

It just seems so pointless and a waste of project resources to me - that would be better spent on areas in the OS where Ms still admits improvements need to be done - for starters can't they do something about File explorer which really looks awfully dated now - and also really get to grips with why so many home users have trouble getting networking or even the simplest file sharing systems to work properly (just follow the Networking and sharing section).

    Hi there
Surely they do "Internal system testing" before letting a release out of the door -- basic I.T management - 101 !!!!! (works for projects both big and small -- Ms should try it sometime --it really does work !!)

Seems they don't use it though.

Anyway the release seemed to install for me without any issues -- would like the next one to have something more interesting in it -- like for example a decent functioning (persistent across re-boots) sandbox system and an improvement to the WSL where you could install distros of your choice - with a GUI .

Even if these things don't become mainstream there's nothing wrong on Ms putting some of these things into these types of releases - mainstream users won't be on this program anyway.

    Cheers

Just close that window and start with the first available Quest (emojis or clipboard history)

My DNS wouldn't work on this build. It could ping like 8.8.8.8 but never find DNS sites. Rolled it back and all is working.

Sandbox stopped working in this build - or maybe the one before. No big deal
