I have no clue where these claims are coming from. i have not had any issues with neither WSL nor SSDs. :)
well slicendice I recently saw this post AND this post in MDL forums:

    No in-place upgrades still dosn't work on Windows 10 20H2 (19042.541) with an Windows 10 19042.541 ISO.
so at least 1 person has confirmed the in-place upgrade bug (via repair upgrade from 19042.x) with 19042.541

I decided to go ahead and install 19042.541 on my main PC via a UUP Dump ISO. It didn't work the first time, but then I remembered I hadn't turned off Trusted Computing in the BIOS. Once I did that, everything went smoothly. When it finished, a notification popped up saying the .pdf default program had been switched from Foxit Reader to Edge, but that wasn't true.

Do you think 19042.541 is ready to be installed on the main machine?

I think it will likely be the official 20H2 release, probably next Patch Tuesday (October 13). I'm running it on 4 machines and seeing no problems on any of them.
