New Start menu leaks in Windows build 9788

Well, it looks like the leaks are starting to flow - or else someone has decided to spend an unhealthy amount of time building an elaborate Start menu replica. As you can see in the image above, the Start menu is there but it's not all that exciting as we have seen most of this before.

We do know that this is still an early build of next generation of Windows and we will have more to report on that tomorrow. So, don't get too caught up in the minor details as there will be other enhancements to the desktop before Threshold is released.

I think I'll wait until MS releases the "official" consumer preview, before I take a look a W9. I'm not a big fan of leaked software!

I will have to agree with you it seems the leaked software is never the same as the released version.

Why does it say "Windows 8.1 Pro" in the lower right corner. I think it is a fake.

It may very well be fake, we won't know until Microsoft officially release something however it is normal for this message to have the old OS name at this stage, i remember the beta "leaked" versions of Windows 8 having Windows 7 in the bottom right.

Just an FYI, that is a similar screen shot from Build Conference 2014
They announced that this is what the start menu could look like, but no indication of when it would be released

So for now, all these screenshots of the start menu are fake and speculation.

that is 2 hours 8 min in.

"We will be making this available to all Windows 8.1 users as an update."

One problem, all it is as far as I can see is a different way to get to Modern Apps. I did not see a All Programs entry, just All Apps.

Looks like the Add-on Start buttons will continue to be wanted and needed.

That all depends. My bet is, All Apps is All Programs.
Go to your Start screen and go to the apps section.
that includes everything, including Desktop Applications.
    So, that is All Programs.

I didn't watch the video long enough to see, I'll take another look and see what it shows.

Nope, didn't go into that at all.
