I tried many powershell commands but nothing worked for me either. Then while experimenting with the Windows To Do app, I temporarily disabled Windows Defender and suddenly all the Store apps started working again . Very weird.

Unfortunately not on this machine. Read on a forum here that WAU manager is good so might try that on it.
I missed your version listing before...ah, gee, Pro is worth it, I think. I got it free in perpetuity when Microsoft was offering it (from a retail version of Win8--retail license follows you, not the motherboard), and the wife also got it free, in perpetuity, upgrading her machine from a retail version of Win7 at the same time. I think I've switched out motherboards in both systems at least twice since the initial upgrade to Win10, and the activation of the retail upgrades has worked as advertised and carried over per Microsoft's "lifetime" activation promises. OEM version licenses, of course, die with the motherboard.

Good luck with WAU! Hope it does the job for you.

Thx for taking the time to post back, but I should have taken the time to search first before asking as in post # 91.

    Hi folks

Upgrade from W7 still working (and W8/W8.1) -- from old Technet keys if you still have them --any downloadable version of W7/W8/W8.1 iso --legit version will activate with those keys --and then W10 upgrade just OK.

Not sure how long this will still work for - especially as that "Free Upgrade program" shut down supposedly a few years ago .!!!

All those old Technet keys were "multiple Activation " ones as well -- no wonder Ms closed the program.

    Cheers

Strictly speaking it was the "Forced Upgrade" program that shut down.

Yes Technet was a great deal while it lasted. I can upgrade without both My Windows 7 and Windows 8 Technet keys but was given a new one by a Microsoft Tech about a year ago. Wish I had a key for Workstation version of Windows 10 but frankly can see spending money for it.
