You're using 0xCA, loaded by the C:\Windows\system32\mcupdate_genuineintel.dll included in this update, as your BIOS microcode is older (0x9E)
As for the double entry, I have no idea, but it's not the only CPU with the same issue.

P.S. Would you be kind enough to run the Powershell script, from an Administrator console, instead of the normal one you did it and post the screenshot?
It shows the same thing, but here it goes.

    First of all thanks!

And secondly. No it doesn't show the same. When run as non-Administrator the BIOS is detected as legacy (which is wrong, as you're on UEFI). That's why in the instructions I say to run the script in an elevated (=Run As Administrator) PowerShell.

Regarding the mcu of course is the same!

    Thanks again.

I just installed this on my i7 4790k (I just saw Haswell!)
Not 100% sure but seems to be okay?

Well you cannot count on Microsoft to have the most up-to-date microcodes.
From my last bios update on August 4th:
Running microcode revision : 0xD6 (loaded by UEFI)
UEFI CPU microcode revision : 0xD6

    Microsofts offering not been updated:
    Intel® Core™ Processor i9-9900K, i9-9900KF : 0xAE

For my Whiskey Lake U2, 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 Processor (806EC) Microsoft includes in the update microcode revision 0xB8.
From my August UEFI update by hp, I have 0xD6.

I'm not sure what was updated. The summary doesn't mention any of the vulnerabilities disclosed within the past year.

I don't understand why Microsoft is having so much difficulty providing microcode updates from Intel in a timely fashion. Linux distributions don't have this problem.

CPUID signature‎: ‎306C3 matches for i7-4790k and it is OK.

EDIT: Nevermind, I checked my CPUID and compared it to Haswell and it matched.
