Well it's now actually installing. So initially it was downloading but preparing and downloading then went to installing. It then remembered it forgot to prepare something when downloading so went to downloading again but was really preparing something it forgot to prepare when it was initially downloading preparing.

    Simples....

By Jove! I believe he's got it!

Used UUP in 45 Minutes because WU download was so slow. No problems.

Finally got it installed. Part of my problem was that NOD32 was trying to restart the PC because it had done an update to the app. I let it restart and the Win update started again at 0%. Everything seems ok now.

The problem is a big file with a long name in c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\
W10 20201.1000 is still downloading and the size is already around 30GB
    This is not normal

Agree. There's something wrong here. Mine spent ages downloading at 5% and then failed with 0x80070005 error. By this time free space on the SSD was down to just over 3 Gb. It's only a 60 Gb SSD but there was 31 Gb free space when it started downloading. It hadn't even started installing. I assume free space was the issue.

I've restored the SSD from the Macrium Reflect backup and am now trying the ISO having mounted it as a virtual DVD. Seems to be installing OK (up to 23% after 5 mins) but will leave it running overnight now as it's getting late ...
