That's been busted in Insider (Fast) for a long time for me. Can't recall when it stopped working, but has to be months ago.

Really odd part is my VM Insider Fast, same builds all along, is also busted. That is not coincidence.

I wish I knew the fix.

That's a lot of startup items, must take a lot of time to completely boot and use a lot of RAM and other resources.

I can't say anything about older builds since I upgraded to this build from 19041.450 stable. I have tried many of the common solutions posted online and none have helped me

Nah, I use a nvme ssd for boot drive, gets me completely booted to desktop in somewhere around 15 sec

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20190.1000 (rs_prerelease) - Aug. 12-screenshot_vm1_2020-08-14_15-47-47.pngThis is a screenshot of a QEMU/KVM VM of a fresh install of 20190 from a UUPDUMP ISO. This Net Framework appeared immediately in Settings-Update after the install but did NOT require a reboot. So it is possible for them to code this. Perhaps future installations of Net Framework after upgrading won't require a reboot. We can only hope.

Just got the xxxx.744 dot-net update--had to reboot. Yawn....I update only through WU, and it's always an upgrade update on top of a previous build.

This sneaked up on me! Just got asked to restart. 10 min later, at desktop.

And, yes, Net CU there AGAIN.

    Hi there

did mine (also QEMU/KVM Virtual machine) via WU this time. I didn't immediately get the .NET update - but after I did a manual "Check for updates" it added a WD security update and then the .Net update.

Doesn't bother me though -- could be that this .NET update needs a running booted version of Windows available before it can install. -- I notice also that during the upgrade process the number of re-boots required is far less now than they used to be - I think this time -only 1 required.

    Cheers
