Probably confused because it is a 20H2 feature.
@moinmoin suggestion seems right. Won't show the Version if the registry tweak has been used for the new start menu.

Guess that would tend to confuse Windows a bit about knowing itself.

Nope, it is 2004, but this does not show it either.

So remove the registry tweak, does that fix it?

Mine got blank too as i stated some pages ago. This new start design will be delivered to anyone on 2004 next days or can be achieved just by tweaking the reg or updating to the insider 20h2 builds?

Maybe @kado897 is right in post #169. I have not applied the registry tweak yet and I do have version 2004 before the "OS Build version" as evidenced in the following screenshot for my Winver.

@Ztrucker removing the registry tweak and restarting the computer does restore the version # (2004)

Keeping up with my promise from post #162, I have applied the registry tweak for 2009 (20H2), but I don't know if I am missing something, there are no noticeable differences in the start menu from the screenshots taken before and after the tweak:

    Before:

    KB4568831 Cumulative Update Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.423 - July 31-start-menu-before-registry-tweak.png

    After:

Oh!, I see the difference is that there is more transparency for some tiles in the "After" Screenshot.
