Nope! Gave up on Outlook! It was putting me to the test!

I use eM Client and Mailbird exclusively.
Why 2 mail programs and which is better?

Actually, I use eM Client free, on one PC, hoping the pro version will go on sale some day,

however, I have Mailbird Pro as my default on the other PC's.

In my opinion, eM Client is the superior client, more feature rich but pricey!

Mailbird is lighter, less convoluted, and easier to get a lifetime Pro license free!

I started out with the free version and like it so much I went for the lifetime updates.

Can't upgrade from 20160 to 20170 through windows update or ISO. I already added feedback on the feedback hub, but I'm still unable to upgrade. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Any ideas for how to fix this issue? I think it has something to do with my video or other drivers because the update gets to ~55% installed and then leads to a permanent gray screen of death.

Error code given in windows update is:
    0x80242016

Error code given when trying to install via in place upgrade from mounted ISO:
    0xC1900101 - 0x3000D
The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation

Failure the first time using the ISO with a VMware VM Attachment 288228

But success the next timeAttachment 288229
I'm getting this same error when mounting the ISO on my C drive and trying to install (occurred twice consecutively). Update gets to ~55% and then leads to a gray screen of death failing to fully install even though I have both an Intel CPU and GPU. How can I fix this as it also won't install from windows update.

Try this, it worked for me...click on "view optional updates" and install if any available.....see attachment.

    Hi there
This update starts the application and then disappears into the "black Hole" --nothing -- zilch etc

Why do I always have trouble on AMD machines --when this one is bust It's going to a 1 way trip to the Tip --never again will I buy AMD for Windows -- OK for Linux though.

Update works fine on a much older Intel Celeron system, a modern Intel laptop and a really old Intel Sony VAIO laptop so there's something on the AMD system these updates don't like.

    AMD CPU -- OPTERON X4321

    Cheers

@jimbo45 Probably why there is a block on AMD machines getting it through WU.

I don't remember what I paid for the lifetime updates. I only have eM Client installed on my desktop so I only needed one license. I was using the free version of eM Client on my laptop until I decided I only needed to check my email on one device.
