All check for firmware updates and install them if there are any.

I have it installed and run it once in a while. Never leave it running.

Good for checking and benchmarking also to make or brake Over provisioning partition and to enable Turbo mode if your SSD supports it, otherwise nothing else, I have it installed but not autorun.

Same here. You can TRIM your SSD when you want - I don't bother with any scheduled trim or keep it running in the background or anything. And I'm certainly not going to let MS handle 'optimizing' my SSD.

Exactly 'sgage' - the screenshot Bob posted was exactly the SanDisk software i run (SanDisk is owned by Western Digital) I would recommend unpacking 'enable Window TRIM' as that is the culprit to the bug that doesn't recognise when TRIM was last run. Instead, pick a day of the week you want to run TRIM, open up the dashboard software & run it manually. Mind you, it would be interesting to see if keeping run the Windows TRIM checked would both remember last time run or, if it doesn't, will it run everyday without you knowing it does - not good for the SSD obviously!

I have mulled over and analyzed every reasonable definition of "near term", given all benefits of the doubt, and even consulted the OED, and still arrive at "when they are ready". Maybe.

    Hello Faith,

Microsoft just mentions in the "near term" in the post above. We'll see.

Oh oops. I don't know what "servicing cadence primer" means, but I guess it's soon.

Nvm, I'm being stupid... I can't read today apparently.
