Windows Insider Fast Ring LatestKUuuntu 20.10

Got attention required in Settings started download at 2:23 PM EDT. Started installing 2:43 PM EDT. Restart notification. 3:17 PM See you on the other side. Desktop 3.24 PM - elapsed time 61 minutes. Disk Cleanup - 10.5 GB Previous build. Delivery optimization files are negligible - I assume others have noticed this for quite a while. I ure would be nice if the Insider team told us how they have accomplished this - but I'm not holding my breath.

I will boot to Ubuntu 20.10 in order to pick up the UUPDUMP ISO. So far the 5.8 kernels are not working out very well. In face kernel 5.8rc2 won't boot on either Kubuntu or Fedora nor would VMware WS compile on rc1. I'm also working to install Manjaro using Manjaro Architect The unstable branch picked up the faulty kernel 585c2 and won't boot - think I will stick with Kernel 5.7.5 and try installing WS e.x.p. which is working on that kernel in Ubuntu. That's all for right now - no new features on this Fast Build. Damn, the New Framework CU reappeared once again requiring a reboot into Windows again. Haven't checked the Feedback Hub - are people screaming about this incredible annoyance much?

52 minutes to the desktop, a pretty average sort of time for me.

I updated to 20152 using WU in 45 Minutes. Update went smoothly, but again got the .NET Framework CU immediately after for the sixth time. Everything is OK, the expiration date stayed at 7-31-2020.

60 min to desktop - not bad for this comp.

BUT, bah humbug, sleep still not working. Even worse, it wasn't in the "have yet to fix" list.

How universal is this fault? Is it just a select few or is it widespread?

Just tested after 2 mins and sleeps ok. Same as closing lid. Have hibernate disabled.
It seems that it isn't a bug/problem for all...

Think I'll just set mine to never sleep, then it will be working fine

Just tested on today's preview 20152.1000 and works. I always run with hibernate, and so fast start-up, disabled. Worth a try disabling hibernate to try? You can always re-enable. Apology if you've already tried it. CMD admin -
    powercfg -h off
