Winamp -- I still like that one because for classical music it has a built in API to the gracenote DB so for ripping old classical music CD's tagging is pretty accurate -- even for obscure / older works -- I know there's others out there now which connect to other music DB's but those generally aren't good for classical music.

This thing also works brilliantly -- Squeezeplayer -connects to remote logitech music server on my NAS which has built in access to zillions of Internet Radio stations -- it connects via the opml protocol -- so as BBC removed some of its stations from Tunein this still access them - currently listening to Flemish classical radio (VRT Klara) from Brussels.

Both these needed loads of C++ stuff to be downloaded from Ms before working -- now worked first time without any extra downloads.

So..? It has been known for a long time that the old WinAmp player was free to download. Well, it may have been gone for a while, but it also works fine on Windows 10. The WinAmp site does state that it is still a work-in-progress and that some parts are missing compared to how it used to be.

My decision is not to install this now. If MS wants to include it thru WU, fine, but why risk issues which I don't need by installing it now? My pc is running fine and there's always a risk that by installing this, that will change.

I copy the file then from Windows to a NAS server and then stream from NAS to an Amazon fire TV stick !! which plays into a TV via KODI app --(KODI is installed on the amazon fire stick)

installed a day or so ago. no issues.

I've Clean Installed 20H2 19042.330 twice now to a Hyper-V VM and both time I end up with a problem when I boot or restart. I end up at this screen, the mouse and keyboard are live but do nothing. I can click on Ease of Access or Power and they work.

Originally I ended up at the blur screen so I disabled acryllic-blur, now I end up here.



If I click on Power then shift-restart I end up in the normal sign in page.

The reason I posted this here rather than in the 20H2 thread is I believe this is a 2004 problem (my Hyper-V Host). When I do the Shift-restart above, the Hyper-V VM restarts but instead of getting the Boot Options menu, I quickly reboot back into the Hyper-V VM only now Enhanced Session is turned off and I can't turn it on as doing so causes the hang.


@jimbo45, is this anything you've run into? I know you've made a lot of posts about Hyper-V problems but I've not followed them because up until now I've not had any problems.

Above is wrong. I just switched the VM back to 2004 20161.1000 and everything works correctly in an Enhanced Session. No more hang, drag and drop, sharing, so it's a problem with 20H2.

I'll add a post in that thread and a pointer here.
