That's true. More you have, longer it takes to build Windows.old. Then there are some parts that are CPU intensive, so running an i3 1.8GHz screamer may take a while.

I reset my Fast, oops Development Ring, oops Channel, a couple of builds ago, so I'm running a bare bones Fast Development Ring Channel. 25 minutes Check to Desktop.

Those "Oops" really strike my attention. Really like the way you put it. Here is hoping that we won't have to go for 4 or 5 "oops" in the foreseeable future. If that were to happen, the terminology could get very awkward and confusing. I remember quite well you mentioned there is a new management in this department. As is usually the case, new management equates to new rules and changes.

Unfortunately yes. Last one I gave up after 4 hours and left it for the next day. 4 core Pentium 2.1 GHz, 8 Gig ram and a Crucial SSD. It's been slow with these insider updates since the beginning.

It's not the toshiba listed as my system one.
Sounds like the slowdown is all in your Internet access. With my SSD, the offline disk-install portion generally takes 10-12 minutes, give or take. You are spending the lion's share of your time downloading, imo.
