I think selectively quoting from four posts would have been a bit much... Actually, my post was directed towards the event where a new Win10 build overwrote files in the installed driver stack in the old build that it shouldn't have, resulting in problems even when a superficial version check indicates the new build installed without having changed anything in the installed driver set. Hence, the suggestion to do a factory reinstall after the install of a new build--which is something I do routinely these days. (It had nothing to do with blaming the AMD drivers for anything. Sorry you misunderstood...)

The older Catalysts were built on .net, as you mention, and required it to install--the Adrenalins & the 2020's abandoned that strategy--use QT instead, IIRC. Thankfully... Those .net GUIs were really getting long in the tooth.

I have had a strange issue with a few last builds.

When upgraded, when I try to launch any Microsoft Office application, I get this error message:



Checking the installed programs, when trying to repair Office installation, I do not see Office among installed software. Instead, I see all individual Office applications with a blank icon:



I need to reinstall Office, every time.
