Moved house last year and loved ditching all the discs I still had on a shelf!
I've been in this since MSDOS 2.7 when I built my first computer taking a class for Micro Computer Repairs NRI and it still sucks. The real problem is they don't care what we think, if you have been following the Insiders you would know that. They are not fixing what is broken. Beta Channel is going to be the same as Slow Ring with a different name. I have sent in errors and other problems to MS and they have not done anything to improve it. I also run Manjaro Linux in "Real Time Testing" If you want a challenge try that.
New names for same old "we never listen to our testers" crap so nothing will improve as you can see with the 2004 issues some get.
Name change is least important, I used to run Skippy and now in Fast ring, what would be more interesting to now if some really interesting features will be introduced, frankly, Fast ring has become boring, running around chasing bugs is not much of a sport any more, Technical preview was more exciting. For me, insider version became more or less just "spare" OS.
Hi there
doesn't management have to do something to justify its continued existence !!
However usually re-branding can be a dismal failure usually after a collossal expenditure --then the manager leaves with a humingous "Golden Handshake" !!! --Nice work if you can get it.
That said I can't think of a single instance where a re-branding of a well known (and usually popular) brand has ever been a success.
The last major effort at that was "Cadbury's chocolate" -- while being produced in the UK it was almost a religon -- giving even belgian chocolate a run for its money -- US company took it over and changed the recipes on some "dubious health grounds" -- and most brits I know won't even touch the stuff any more --disgusting they say. !!
So beware of changing things around just for the sake of it.
For those who don't want to test --there's no compulsion to do so - but others don't mind so if you don't like testing and get fazed by defects found in these builds --why bother complaining --nobody is forcing people to test these builds.
Cheers

Let's be honest here, every channel is in some kind of beta.I feel like I'm being tested in the official/public release.
