- no update was offered !!!! totally stupid by MS -- surely if you are using metrics to check what version of Windows is being run it can't be beyond the realms of possibility to check whether the system is "updateable" or not.

I sometimes wonder if these days - while the technology has certainly improved by about a million fold (or more) over the last 30 years or so -- has the basic skill set of people working in this business improved as well --IMO it seems to have regressed a lot -- although of course there are still some very capable people in the industry.

When you think of those people with the hardware at the time did with those Voyagers -- 1 and 2 (1979) still transmitting useful data and with a CPU that has less capability by far than a modern simple calculator !!!!! 'Nuf said.

What bios did it put you on?
