Features removed and deprecated in Windows 10 version 2004

    Last Updated: 31 Aug 2020 at 08:44

Beginning with Windows 10, version 2004, all new Windows 10 systems will be required to use 64-bit builds and Microsoft will no longer release 32-bit builds for OEM distribution. This does not impact 32-bit customer systems that are manufactured with earlier versions of Windows 10; Microsoft remains committed to providing feature and security updates on these devices, including continued 32-bit media availability in non-OEM channels to support various upgrade installation scenarios.

Thx. This version I have since May 12. I was hoping that there would be a newer version in which defrag works.

I'm just curios as to when they're finally going to get rid of the embedded Adobe Flash Player finally.

Even Adobe is done with it as of end of 2020
When is the Flash Player end-of-life (EOL)?

As previously announced in July 2017, Adobe will stop distributing and updating Flash Player after December 31, 2020 (“EOL Date”). We made this announcement in collaboration with several of our technology partners – including Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla – which issued complementary announcements with more technical detail on what the Flash Player EOL will mean for developers, enterprises, and consumers using their specific OS environments or browsers.

Will Adobe provide security updates for Flash Player after the end-of-life date?

Adobe will not issue Flash Player updates or security patches after the EOL Date. We recommend that all users uninstall Flash Player before the EOL date (see manual uninstall instructions for Windows and Mac users). Users will be prompted by Adobe to uninstall Flash Player on their machines later this year and Flash-based content will be blocked from running in Adobe Flash Player after the EOL Date.

Is legacy Edge going to be removed if it is no longer supported? Is it essential to install Edge Chromium if you already ue Google Chrome?

    Hi folks
Please note that those who want a "Windows to Go" feature -- there are still a few manual alternative methods to do it -- some even as simple as cloning (not making image and restoring --you have to use the clone function) an internal SSD to an external SSD connected to the computer via a USB3/2-->SATA connection. Not always guaranteed to work that easily (I suppose it depends on the electronics in the USB-->SATA connector) but I've got the following adapters to work by cloning a laptop's SSD with Macrium Free to external SSD --- SABRENT and ASMEDIA AS2115.

(The Windows system will also boot on to different computers so it definitely works - but of course remember activation if using different hardware).

I still also like to do this as I can test totally different versions of Windows on a laptop withouth having to restore etc if something doesn't work -- I can keep the external version and apply fixes when available etc --- I don't like splitting a laptops HDD (these days SSD usually) for dual booting -- I'd much rather if I dual boot use a totally separate HDD / SSD -- and the Windows response on the USB3 system is still extremely good when it's SSD based !!.

    Cheers
