Debian didn't work out but I'm about to install Ubuntu 20.10 which already looks good. This will enable me to rapidly test the just released Linux kernel 5.7 final with both VMware WS 15.5.5 and VMM. I would like to alert folks that, since I can see some of the services shutting down whenWindows restarts, that Redmond has pushed the Update Orchestrator service to my machine. So I think an update will be pushed fairly soon. I'll install Ubuntu and go to sleep. Tomorrow I get my first haircut this year - but my wife has taken a picture - I haven't had this long hair (not much of it) or beard since the '70's.
    Hi folks

our pubs, shops etc have been open for a while -- I haven't been to hairdressers for years (use those babaliss self cutter things-- just chop mine short to "Military or skin head style" --easy save loads of EUR !!! and time)

I want to visit some people in the UK but apparently just as everyone else is coming out of this dreadful phase they are imposing 14 day quarantine on all travellers from monday -- seems IMO late to do that --should have been at the start -- however that's their business (or lack of it !!) so they will have to do without my money for the time being. Going to Amsterdam instead !!! -- Nice to be able to move around again reasonably normally --finally.

Windows release (fast ring) still throwing up too many problems to be considered a main stream release yet -- my most successful release so far seems the 1909 18363 release just before that was upgraded to the "2004 update" which for some reason seems a bit slower than the previous one.

CENTOS 8 working fine as a VM on Windows and VMWare on this release of Windows - Bridged Networking broken though as is networking in general-- but using the VMWare 20H2 version (the free trial thing) then it's OK and the VM has full internet access. The HOST still can't see the VM (that's the general problem I have with this release of Windows --it fails to detect NON WINDOWS machines on LAN. I've done all the usual bits like SMB etc. Machines are acessible via IP address but that's a pain.

    Cheers

Installed Ubuntu 20.10 in VMware 15.5.5 Windows and install Kubuntu 20.10 in VB now. Maybe I will have more luck with Kubuntu on the Linux SSD (or could try installing next to Windows on the Windows SSD saving the Linux SSD for say Arch or or whatever. I'm finding the fast ring Windows to be pretty stable and think its better without Hyper-V. Actually I can try installing Hyper-V in a VM but that's a bit tricky

I'll ask Susan to send before - after not for a couple of hours. But this is all pretty much for the Lounge. Right now waiting for the next build but Kubuntu is installed so Linux virtualization awaits.
