I have it set to use my location, I see Montreal, Canada.. open the maps slide around and it works, you should reset the app and or uninstall reinstall it or check if your location services are on for this app under privacy but I would reset or reinstall first.
I have tried resetting the app and I have tried reinstalling the app several times. It's still usable so I'm just going to continue using it as is. I have The Weather Channel app and the myradar app installed and they work. It's just that I do prefer the MS Weather app.

can you give me a example?
I right clicked the Weather app icon and choose uninstall. Then after restarting the computer I go to the MS Store and reinstall the Weather app.

Yes it does ask. It defaults to NJ (New Jersey). If I choose my location manually it does remember my location. I use to be able to select Always Detect My Location and it would automatically default my home location.

If it asks then why do you want to manually set it? Leave it on always detect and test the maps

I edited my post to add that it defaults to NJ (New Jersey). Other than that I see the blank icon on the task bar is still there when a program is minimized.

The taskbar is a known issue but it you leave it set to always detect and relaunch the app your saying it doesn’t remember your location? what happens when you leave it to always detect your location? Do you still see New Jersey ? Mine always says Montreal and even as a live tile on start menu I always see Montreal? I’m trying to understand what happens when you leave it to always detect location

Always Detect My Location goes to NJ even after a restart of the program. If I select Default Location and select the town were I live it stays as the default. I use to always keep it set to Always Detect My Location. It's just a little nuisance that I can live with. I'm going to update my laptop later tonight or tomorrow. I'll check the Weather app setting before I do and see if it changes my settings after the update.
