You are probably lucky. It hadn't come to my pc yet so I installed it thru Insider without any problem installing, but it completely messed up that pc, it couldn't even recognize my MS account. Thank God for Macrium Reflect, I was able to restore it back to 1909. Windows Update isn't offering version 2004 to either of my pc's as of tonight, but I feel lucky at this point that neither of of them has been offered the update. I will just relax and hope they get the mess cleaned up.
Installing it thru "Insider" put you on either Release Preview Ring or Slow Ring. In all honesty, that is not the way to do it under any circumstances. Not if you intend to run that OS as your daily.... banking, Credit Cards, anything else personal. Not criticizing, only pointing out that was the wrong tool for the job. MCT would have worked. The issues you encountered were not the build's fault, but the method.

Yeah, it's been released to the general public a day or so ago. Historically, not everyone gets the update the day it's released. Kind of a virtual impossibility. It may take as much as a week or more for everyone to get it through Windows Update.

    Application Guard for Office.
Automatically enabled when Application Guard policies are enabled in Windows 10, documents are opened with the Microsoft 365 Apps client (formerly Office 365 ProPlus), and the user opening the document is assigned a Microsoft 365 E5 license or a Microsoft 365 Security E5 license.
The original post was TLDR when I first saw it, but now I had time to read through, I like the above addition.
Too bad I can't use it, as I don't have enterprise office sub, just a normal Microsoft 365 Family sub.

But I was thinking that it would be a great idea if Microsoft added a switch in Settings and/or Defender to open all links from UWP & sys32 apps in a AppGuard window for security reasons.
Like if someone sends you an Email with a link, or another example; benchmarking software opens a a browser window when you send your benchmark score, and so on.

After otherwise successfully run clean installs of 2004 19041.264 on both Laptop and Desktop I saw this same issue again that I did after my clean installs of 1909 when notifications of Defender Scans were no longer appearing.

What is new in Windows 10 version 1909

Coincidentally I'd notice that these Windows Defender scheduled maintenance tasks had not run yet. Seeing a connection, I kept a close eye on when they did, and sure enough when they finally kicked off the first time, 16 hours later, I immediately got a Summary of Defender Scan's Notification and all my notifications for subsequent scans now appeared. So it's just a patience issue.

Also of interest was the Defender Platform version that I'd been offered under 1909 earlier in the month - "1909, 4.18.2005.4-0", is not being offered to me now, instead I'm back to the older version - "4.18.2004.6-0"

Normally I'd been getting the latest and greatest platforms after what has been assumed to be my 'seeker' behavior of daily automated checks for Defender Updates with a scheduled task that runs "MpCmdRun.exe -signatureUpdate".

Perhaps I'll have to build up my bonus reward points again. ;o)

    Update:

I just noticed in my 2004 Registries here:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\MpEngine

That they are now lacking the entries that @tymes found were consistent with getting the advanced WD Platforms posted earlier in 1909 about how some machines chronically had different Defender Platform versions.

MS Antimalware Platform 4.18.2001.6 only on one PC

I have just installed MS Store App "Bluetooth Audio Receiver" and now my mobile casts sound to my laptop via Bluetooth.

Welcome back from your exile since W10 was first released, old friend.

Edit: Great Icon - virtually invisible.

Reminds me of Hotblack Desiato's space ship which has a black control panel, with a black button it and written in black letters was the instructions "do not push this button" - LOL.

And, it is prudent to wait on MS to offer it to you thru Windows Update. It had not been offered on my 2 pcs, so I impatiently used Windows Update Assistant to get 2004. One worked fine, but the other kept locking up and I finally had to roll it back to 1909 using Recovery. Lesson learned here!

    Hi,
Several restarts start menu never got better so I dumped 2004 and restored a system image back to 1909.

Absolutely, that's exactly what I'm doing. It was offered on 2 of mine, and they successfully updated through Windows Update. But I'm not going to risk forcing it onto my other machines that have not been offered it yet.

I can attest to that. I updated 2 machines with the ISO just before the blocks were put on. They installed fine, but had enough weird quirks and unexplained phenomena that I restored their Macrium images back to 1909. Soon as I did and checked for updates, I was was shown the block.
