suggestion while you wait for it to crash.

Open an administrator Cmd window and type in Sfc /scannow
and see if that picks up any errors

Many thanks to @zbook for his skill and time. The crashes were from the Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 hardware/driver. I had updated it from Device Manager and it said it was up to date but I later found Intel had a later version so I installed that. Since then, fingers crossed, it has not crashed during sleep.

Hopeful, but another three days should decide it.

Be prepared it may take a very long time.

This update was released in May and to this date (Aug 18, 2020) my 2017 Lenovo laptop still hasn't been offered it

Desktop got it a month ago.
