So you have no Group Policies set?

The reason for my "yellow" notice is to exclude quality drivers from Windows Update. Clicking the "View configured update policies" link confirms that. Outside of that I wouldn't have that message.

Well, the most obvious next step would be to click the blue 'view configured update polices' just below it. I'm betting that as you have Pro you have set the Group Policy to notify for updates, as I have done. If so then it is not a lie, you do have policies in place.

I had checked each, and more, several times before broaching the subject here. Farvatten had the clue.

Not sure if this still applies but Brink mentioned this about the message during 1903 :

    here:

Cannot be removed - Some settings are managed by your organization
I went back into gpedit and toggled the "Not Configured" to "Disabled".

    Then did a gpupdate /force.

Then toggled it back to "Not Configured" and did another gpupdate /force.

    Result:

Thank you, @Farvatten. Too bad I can't rep in the News thread.

Sometimes enabling the relevant group policy, then setting it back to 'not configured' will clean out any rogue registry settings that trigger the 'some settings are managed...' message.

I have seen some settings in GPE if you config them (enabled) and want to return to stock (not config) that setting to not config didn't update the reg key right. I had to choose the opposite option first.
An example you enabled so had to do disable, then not config and all was good. It is not all GPE settings that you need to do this but I can't remember which ones I had to, I think it was quality/feature update day delay one but not sure.

    This is sometimes needed:

    gpupdate /force

Which is done on restart anyway, but will force update on the fly.

Anyway, just glad the message is gone, so guess we should try to get best we can!

It has a 1.50GHz CPU and 4GB RAM, max is 8GB but machine is a suitable loaner.

Yea me too. This site and some others. Ended up flushing my DNS but things were still slower for another hour.

Cloudflare DNS goes down, taking a large piece of the internet with it
