    Here's some reading for you.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4551203/updating-to-windows-10-version-2004-on-devices-with-hypervisor-protect

However, the message is not quite the same for all.

I started turning off network and updating.
No MAJOR issues on 5 machines so far. Next update will probably require a retina scan or print identification. How many are going to know what core isolation is ? Try finding that in other languages.

I imagine, well hope is more like it that this problem will be addressed for Patch Tuesday.

That's basically telling you to update you video card drives and pointing to an alternative if you can't...

To update to Windows 10, version 2004 with Memory integrity enabled, you will need to update your display drivers. Updated drivers might be available on Windows Update. See Update Windows 10 for more information. If you are still receiving the safeguard hold, you will need to check with your device manufacturer for updated display drivers (sometimes called video drivers).

If you are unable to update your display drivers, you will need to turn Memory integrity off to be able to update to Windows 10, version 2004.

    1. Go to the Core isolation page in Windows Security.
    2. Turn the Memory integrity setting Off. You will need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

There's also this fine print note (if things weren't confusing enough...
    Note

Memory integrity is a security feature that is off by default. If it is enabled on your device, it was enabled by a user or by an IT administrator. These factors should be considered when disabling it. If it was enabled by an IT administrator in your organization, you may not have permission to disable it.
But yes, my GPU drivers are updated and include the 2.7 WDDM drivers Microsoft wants for the 2004 update... Still no 2004 update. And my system is custom built by me from with a fresh install of Win 10 so Core Isolation is NOT enabled.

Unfortunately, many don't update their drivers and some have the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude.

Anyway many (including me) wouldn't know to check Core Isolation unless they were looking for a solution to solve an issue. Nothing new here as this is typically how discovery starts - research the issue to find a solution.

With that, I suspect many will follow the Core Isolation advice and STILL not get the update, so... seems this update is like chasing the end of a rainbow - you can chase all you want but you still may not get to the end.

    My two cents.

That's why I stopped pulling my hair, turned off network and updated. I haven't heard reports of blue screen or similar with this method.

This is so bs... I have taken all measures to ensure that my system is compatible. EVERYTHING listed or hinted at doesn't apply to my PC: Core isolation is off by default. iGPU is completely disabled in BIOS (no device detected), I don't even own a VRR monitor for that matter... The Nvidia display driver and GPU is fully compatible with WDDM 2.7. Windows 1909 is up-to-date, aswell as all known drivers. If only Microsoft could list WHYYY it's being blocked... They already know this because if they didn't they wouldn't have blocked it in the first place. This is so stupid. Obviously I won't force it and I will wait - it still have problems -, but the wording and quotes coming from Microsoft, it's like they don't even know either why it's blocked. Their "machine learning" seriously needs work. I HOPE they take this as a lesson and actually learn from this.

Except of course when the installation fails.

If you aren't being offered 2004, stay away. All my computers it has been installed on are messed up. Never had an issue with any other updates causing so many problems.
