I use them both ...........Macrium is my favorite !
I am experiencing a minor glitch with two of my w10 2004 PCs. When booting with options: shutdown -r -o -t 0
if I do not select anything from the menu the system just shuts down (I am not sure if it just shutdown anyway even before displaying the options menu). I usually invoke it for booting into safe mode.
So that's the inside joke.
Macrium VS Acronis. Man, I have been using Acronis since Drive Image was bought out by Norton AKA Symantec AKA Broadband and then AKA who knows what.
I complained many times of bloating on Acronis but I must say the 2020 version apart form ransomware junk (my opinion) works very well. Full Backup of 100GB on an m.2 takes less than 2 minutes.
Interesting article in ZDNet about the issue of update block.
First, users need to update their device's hardware drivers. Second, they should disable Core Isolation in Settings > Windows Security > Open Windows Security > Device Security > Core isolation details.
From Windows 10 2004 update block confusion: 'Your PC settings aren't supported' | ZDNet
Still not seeing any messages in WU, it's like I am all updated but still on 1909.
No complaints but expected some message when manually do a check.
PS: I have core isolation disabled and I have WU open to driver updates.
Same for my second system. It too is on 1909, all up to date. No your computer is not ready and no would you like to download and install messaging.
Just for giggles, I turned Core Isolation on, rebooted, turned it off, rebooted. Manually went thru Device Manager and did an Update Driver check on everything except system stuff (it scares me ).
No change whatsoever. Maybe time to paint the case Chartreuse or something.
Have you upset MS f14? Maybe this is payback time?
Must admit I forced both of my candidates with no adverse results.
