Cliff, you lost me. Is there something wrong with my post?
When I saw you use the word "Winkey", immediately winky came to my mind, then Tinky Winky so I made a Tinky Win-key

Yes, that should do it. You also need to turn on 'show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen'. Mine's set to Spotlight and that's what I get at sign in too. Should work equally well for your own picture.
Well, I have that too but it just won't change.

A look at this excerpt from an AskWoody's article may give some insights on how to fix your issue: (make sure to scroll down half way to the length of the page)

Win10’s default lock screen is a wasted opportunity:

Thanks, I tried to use my own pictures once more (I don't know WHAT I did....) but Windows is no longer pushing my pics away for that gloomy beach piccie... I rebooted four times to check if Windows was naughty with my pictures but no, my picture stayed in place in stead of being pushed to the side to make room for that ugly standard beach pic.

Does that mean your issue has been resolved?. If so, —with or sans the help of my reference— I am glad for you.

It now stayed PUT the way I like it. Like the lockscreen that I want and NOT Windows! (Now I can change my pics again without pushed away!) Sans without your help but thanks anyways!

Really no need to thx me, but I would make a last suggestion, i.e., to do a backup (incremental or differential) while everything is exactly the way you like it. This is better than a Restore Point, as you already know; I am pretty sure.

I have today downloaded 2004 to my PC from win update assistant as it was not showing on win update. It downloaded and installed okay and everything seems to be working. when i checked update history the page was blank not showing any new updates and has deleted all past updates I checked update and programs and it is not showing there I then checked system and it is showing there with same details as my laptop that downloaded from win update it is also in my program files is this a normal thing to happen when you use win update assistant
