Using the Update Assistant everything looked fine until the Assistant wanted to restart my PC.

After a minute or two into the update it restarted again, then returned to the update & abruptly said the update failed. Then restarted again & this time did a repair, restarted again & returned to v1909 (OS Build 18363.836) desktop.

Well, if first you don't succeed, try, try & fail again. Yep. I paid better attention to the error again. "Your device ran into a problem..." The update was a little further along this time & quit at 85%. It went into "Undoing changes..." & I'm back to v1909 (OS Build 18363.836) again.
I've searched this thread but not seeing an ISO file for Windows 10 v2004.

I tried using the update assistant tool twice & failed. I don't know if it matters but when the Update Assistant got to about 85% ready it went into restart. It would seem that it would have been at 100% to do that. Maybe there's my problem?

In any case where can I find the ISO version? I've looked through this thread & don't see it.

I'm a bit confused, I know this is only a small thing but I've been running an Insider Preview (Fast Ring) in a VirtualBox machine for a few months now and it has had all the new icons (UWP apps, Windows Defender etc) for ages, but I have upgraded my 1909 install to 2004 yesterday and I have none of the new icons, nor do I have the banner at the top of the settings app.

    Why is this?
You should have the new icons for UWP apps such as Mail & Weather but the new defender icon is not in this build anywhere.

They seem to be still A/B testing on the Settings header. Some people have it others don't.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I've noticed I have the new icons for Mail and Weather but still rocking the old calculator, feedback hub and many more. I thought this 2004 release was based on the latest Insider Preview but guessing that is not the case?

The Fast Ring is no longer tied to a release. It is a snapshot from the latest development branch. Things that appear on there may or may not make it to release.

And soon, June something, it will jump to 21H1. Think that's correct.

i've been running 19041.264 for ages, about a month now. Windows Update not giving me any updates hopefully we get a CU update soon but so far not having any problems with v2004.

Ran MediaCreationTool2004.exe to get an ISO file. And its small enough to burn onto a DVD disc. so i don't have to install from a USB pen drive.

I delete my v1909 ISO files. don't see the point with sticking with 1909 like Compumind.

That's why no updates offered to you. To the best of my knowledge, the only way to get back to RTM stable public 19041.264 is a clean install.

That Slow Ring could turn into something else at MS's whim, like 21H1. Or Something.
There is a way to escape the Insider Slavery as long as preview and current build are the same, and @bobkn found it: KB4556803 Windows 10 Insider Preview Slow & RP Build 19041.264 May 12

Did a UUP clean install which loaded Edge Legacy....decided to add Edge Beta as both worked together on latest Insider as well as previous RTM....unfortunately the loading either removed or hid the earlier version....have tried various methods including one by Shawn without being able to get them together....I can uninstall Beta version, this would bring back the legacy version.
Any ideas on how to have both browsers?.....the reason being Beta version has made favourites an absolute nightmare to sort out, so would give me respite in the meantime.
