Well mine came rolling in.....and then back out again as I got the dreaded "Undoing.........etc"
No problems other than the one in Optimize noted on 2 PCs, but I get an error every time I reboot an older laptop.
I have no idea what this is referring to. No problems are visible in Device Manager. IDriver.exe and related files were created in AppData\Local\Temp along with an error 1706 notification: "No valid source could be found for product Utility support driver." I don't seem to be missing any usual function.
Had to redo my context menu and explorer tweaks
Add copy and move to context, take ownership, unblock
remove drives in navigation pane
Both my machine that were offered (and accepted) 2004 in windows update upgraded without a problem. Then the fun started - I was denied access to my own Documents folder!
Fortunately I found a fix, but I almost got to the point of rolling back to 1909 before I found it.
2004 update and controlled folder access conflicts
WU is paused until 10/18/2020. I’ll keep watching until I am comfortable that WU won’t force v.2004 on my system, or that’s not going to trash something important. I want to thank all of those early adopters figuring out issues while I quake in fear of the unknown.

Backup system (system two in specs) crapped out trying to get the update....
- Windows Update -failed
- Update Assistant - failed
- Media Creation tool - failed
Now the system is in an infinite boot loop. Luckily there's nothing on the backup system I need (it's not even backed up), so I'll just leave it for now and attempt a clean install at a later date.
Gonna wait about a week before I attempt install on my main rig. First time I've done that
Test upgrade in virtual machine, some quick results:
- fully functional programs spitefully uninstalled
- all shim database corrections (appcompatflags) in registry are gone
- privacy & winupdate settings are damaged
- previously blocked (start = 4) windefend service malware is back
- previously uninstalled onedrive bloatware is back.
On physical systems, ruined device drivers are expected.
Filth as usually.
