I didn't get the update offered today on either device. But my plan was to wait until the June update before moving over to 2004. Give them a chance to make whatever obvious fixes they need to make in the first update and do the update on my schedule.

It wouldn't shock me if I check tomorrow and the update is there under D&IN. Also wouldn't shock me if the update doesn't show up until June 9th for whatever reasons. Which is how it worked out last May/June with a release around this time but no Download & Install Now feature until the June update.

Was that with your laptop? If it was, unplug the cooling mat, because most likely, it has a USB hub causing havoc.

I thought I saw that error code on my MSI laptop, when installing 1909 or 1903 and it looked like it was throwing a fit, just because of a USB hub!

I was hoping Windows 10 wouldn't be picky like Windows 2000 seemed to be.....

I said I was going to wait on this one for some bug fixes. I waited 20mins. Installing now.

As you can see from my screenshot below, I have two headphones: one is from Bose, and the other from Sony (MDR-10RBT). Usually, after an update (mostly FU), both of them won't work or are giving really unbearable weird sound. Most of the time, in order to fix the issue, I would have to roll back the drivers if Audio troubleshooting couldn't help.

    ----updated----
I forgot to mention that I don't use any Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC)
The headphones aren't the issue - it's seems to be the soundcard. I say that cause its highly unlikely two different branded headphones would stop working at the same time... unless the common item was the soundcard.

With that do you have a dedicated soundcard or integrated (built into the motherboard) soundcard? Have you looked into updating the driver?

So my backup system (system 2 in system specs) was offered the update. I installed it (twice) yet winver still shows 1909, and the update is still showing as an available install in Windows Update.

I'm not getting any error codes or anything; the update simply goes through the entire process - rebooting Windows and continuing the install, yet after all is done no update has occurred

Meanwhile my main system (newer everything) hasn't been offered anything.

Do a complete shut down and restart.
Do you have a windows .old folder?

Yeah, this is no windows.old. Its also not listed in Update history.

Anyway, I'm not going to stress over it. I'll just download the MCT tool and go from there. If that fails than I know something on the PC is preventing the update.

    Thanks.

Just completed the update via Windows.iso.

    29 minutes, start to finish.

C space used before: 37.1 gb

C space used right now: 42.2, of which 19.7 is Windows.old; which would be 22.5 if I delete Windows.old.

C hasn't had under 23 occupied space on my PC since 2011 on Windows 7.

    Does that sound kosher?

Is there a semi-comprehensive list of settings I will have to reconfigure? I'm aware of System Restore, and I guess I will have to run Brink's regedits again to get rid of unwanted entries in the File Explorer tree.

Has anybody incurred some issues with Audio System after successfully upgraded to 2004?. The reason I am asking, it's because this is one my biggest pet peeves after FU. It had happened to me so many times in the past.

No. I have a USB DAC which never gets messed up.
