One my desktop the 2004 notice is completely gone. On my laptop the notice is still there...
Both systems are running version 1909 build 18363.959.
Edit: Clicking on check for updates on the desktop now shows I'm ready to be updated - yey
@Faith, I'll bet if you click on updates, you'll probably be offered it now. My point is the disappearing act is simply a precursor to your system be "ready" now
Unfortunately this also happened to me and led to failed installs.
It looked promising to start with but at about 25-35% installed it came up with
which tells you absolutely nothing.
Refresh appears to do nothing also so the only way forward is to close the window which leads you to this
If you click the "Fix issues" button you can end up in a loop getting nowhere.
Error code is usually 0xc1900209. Have tried various methods on the web to try and identify the blocking problem but all I can find that fails the APPRAISER checks is Mediacenter which has already been removed from the system.
Oh really? What a strange behavior. I will see tomorrow. I have Windows Update to check automatically every day, and it has already checked for today. I'm not going to click manually in case they think I want the feature update now, I've heard that when you click on it they will force the update because they think you're a "seeker".
Are you absolutely sure you got this screen...
Cause I can't see your machine saying I'm ready and then not being ready. Certainly not my experience.
Well I took the plunge and on surface all appears to be good
The telling sign for me is nothing have been removed and Device Manager is clean of any errors (yellow triangles indicating driver or hardware issues). If there is something lurking I'll find it within the next few days. So far so good.
Well looks like my Zbook 15v G5 is now being offered it. Since two days after 2004 was released it has had the blocked message. That didn't change after patch Tuesday this week, but it has today! The only changes that happened between checking for updates yesterday morning and today are both Brave browser and Edge Chromium received updates, and of course Windows Defender and MBAM definition updates. No drivers or anything else exciting. So don't know why today is a goer but yesterday wasn't! Anyway will leave it be for a few days and then update. It's still blocked on the Spectre X2 but that has conexant audio drivers, so to be expected.
I think that many of us getting the update today, that was previously blocked without much of a reason before, is a clear indication that it wasn't our PC's fault, - like outdated drivers, - but on Microsoft's end. Anything that has been resolved up to this point has nothing to do with my PC, at all, so why did they push it now, on a friday? It's just weird.
