Just a reminder to those who still think that Windows Update can still be deferred in Windows 10 May 2020 (2004) in Advanced Options. The sad news is that you cannot anymore. You can still use GP Editor to do just that:

Windows 10 administrators who upgraded devices to the latest feature update for the operating system, Windows 10 version 2004, may have noticed that the option to defer updates is no longer present in the Settings application of the operating system.

Did you actually read the June article?

Microsoft notes the following on the Microsoft Docs website:

Update less: Last year, we changed update installation policies for Windows 10 to only target devices running a feature update version that is nearing end of service. As a result, many devices are only updating once a year.

To enable all devices to make the most of this policy change, and to prevent confusion, we have removed deferrals from the Windows Update settings Advanced Options page starting on Windows 10, version 2004.

If you wish to continue leveraging deferrals, you can use local Group Policy (Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Windows Update for Business > Select when Preview builds and Feature Updates are received or Select when Quality Updates are received).

The company does not want to confuse its customers by keeping the option and decided to remove it. Windows 10 customers may still configure update deferrals in the Group Policy, but the option to do so in the Settings application is no longer available.
The policy is still there you just have to use Group Policy

It is basically the same thing; I don't see much difference.

Reading the article explains reason and options. Reading the click bait title... not so much

    Peace:)

Not so sure, because you are missing the link in the "clickbait" article. This one "notes" takes to another page and that other page also has a link to explain what you are referring to:

Microsoft notes the following on the Microsoft Docs website:

I am not trying to argue with you for something so obvious, but probably just like you I like to get to the bottom of things. I admire you for that.

I think the quote I posted direct from your link makes clear what Microsoft did. All Microsoft did was remove a duplicate function. Not the function itself... as the title alludes. That's my point...

Windows 10 customers may still configure update deferrals in the Group Policy, but the option to do so in the Settings application is no longer available.
Now if one wants to argue Microsoft made it harder (requiring use of Group Policy) that's a valid point.

Today I started my second desktop, V1909 Pro, set to delay Feature updates 90 days.

Up until today no message about not being ready or being ready.

Today I clicked on Update and Security and V2004 is getting ready for install.

I did not click on Check for Updates nor did I okay Download and install.

I'm assuming the 90 days were up so no questions asked, it just starts.

NOT what I was expecting. Sure I could go back with Macrium.

Please don't assume MS will ask for confirmation before proceeding if you have been been delaying through Advance Options.

I'm just looking for the actual ISO download file! I have the Media Creation tool but I'm not familiar with it. When I click on it it says "setting things up" but that scares me, lol. Do I continue or not? I'm not ready to update even tho' both of my computers are ready to. Just the ISO file, please. I know what to do with that

Yes, the MCT is just 'getting a few things ready' that it needs in order to proceed. Once set up it will ask 'What do you want to do?'. At this stage the options are upgrade this PC now or to make the ISO. Select making an ISO and you'll be fine.
