The only one I had problems with was my Acer desktop, that had the freezing problem after installing the update, even though it was showing in WU and ready for my device. That one was solved by sorting out the program Malwarebytes and I've had no problems since with it.

My HP convertible 2 in 1 Envy laptop was updated at the beginning of December last year through the Slow ring of the Insider program. The only glitch I had with that was every once in a while after turning the system on in a morning it lost connection to the Internet via Wireless, usually a quick restart of the system put everything right and there were no problems again for several days or a week or two.

Still have hubby's desktop and laptop to do and my Asus laptop, hubby's desktop is the same make and model as mine so I'm not rushing to touch that while he's not having any issue yet. His laptop is a Toshiba.

What did you have to "sort" out with MBam? How did you solve it?

You said the key phrase right there - "XP compatibility mode". Was just curious how a 20 year old program was still running under Windows 10. Not that its impossible as you show.
    Hi there
others (over 20 years old) still working properly under W10 natively : Winamp, Logitechmediaserver, Photoshop 7, Regina REXX interpreter, SAP GUI LOGON, etc .

Actully more work under W10 than did with W8 / W8.1

The only thing that gets regularly broken is Networking which I still can't get to function correctly on any of the 2004 releases --no way can I see Linux NAS servers or other Windows machines using any version of SMB whether 1 or 3 or whatever -- machines can connect via IP addresses only and not via network browsing. Same thing also on the LINUX NAS servers - they can only see the machines also via an IP adress not via a Netname. This hoses up my backup scripts as I use DHCP so the IP addresses aren't likely to be always the same for any logged on Windows machines.

There's no way currently that this build is even "half way ready" for any use at all IMO.

Working builds for me are 329 and 331 (not 330 - also network problem and openssh server wouldn't install).

    Cheers

I was going to say the same, I have turned anto- run of and manually optimize it myself after removing or adding software.

Sorry Jacee, only just seen your post. At the time some people were able to sort it out by stopping MWB running the Ransomeware component. Others reported putting MWB into beta mode solved it.

While still at Windows version 1909 I went into MWB and put it into the beta version and left all the components ticked. I have a Premium version of the program, I then did a complete shutdown for the night.

Next morning I started the machine up and went into Windows Update, I told it to download and install the upgrade to 2004 and left it to it. I did keep going back to check on progress and when it was finished and was showing the browser window telling you what was new I completely closed the machine down again.

I started it back up after a while and I've had no problems since I've also now upgraded MWB to the latest version and still everything is running well so I'm sticking with 2004 now. Mind you I still have another 3 machines to do but will make sure they are up to date with MWB first.
