Has anyone successfully installed 2004 on an AMD-based PC using either WU, or Upgrade Assistant? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Cheers.

Yes, sorry for the typo. Will Fix. (I am currently a reasonably good Scotch.)

The Event ID 642 - ESENT error
svchost (3168,D,50) SRUJet: The database format feature version 9180 (0x23dc) could not be used due to the current database format 1568.20.0, controlled by the parameter 0x410022D8 (8920 | JET_efvAllowHigherPersistedFormat).
seems to be related to the Catalog Database in C:\Windows\System32\catroot2
I deleted all files in catroot2 in the Recovery Environment.
They are recreated again on reboot.
It eliminated most of the 642's but not all.
Regarding Defrag/Optimize, I had a different issue.
It apparently thinks that one of my external USB HDD's is an SSD.
The Media Type is correct, but defrag it says it can't retrim it (of course it can't).
Works fine in 1909.
Third party defrag tool (UltraDefrag) works correctly in 2004.
After a couple days testing 2004, I rolled back to 1909.
Same error I got on an external 1 TB USB HDD.
2004 seems to think it's an SSD, and tried to perform a retrim.
The drive is fine and defrags using UltraDefrag.
It's them.
