#190
I updated last Fri using the update assistant and everything was smooth til I came in here to get up to date on this thread. I saw the esent error problem. I had about 1500 or so between Monday and today. I restored 1909. Have delayed the update for 35 days and will rinse and repeat til the all clear is sounded. Everything works and all events are cleaned out. SHEESH
EXACTLY , the same for me but I did the update on Thursday, using the update assistant. Cortana was not working properly, otherwise all seemed well, And then I opened the event viewer, and saw hundreds , and hundreds of ESENT errors.
I plugged my external drive in , and through Macrium reflect, went back to the day before I installed 2004.
Also, this was the first time ever that I had to use Macrium Reflect, and it worked liked a charm. Also restored back to 1909 build 18363.836, very quickly, and everything was great again the errors disappeared.
Good, isn't it? After using it for a while it becomes your first choice should you run into problems, such as an app install that went wrong or turned out to be a bad choice. So much more reliable (and faster) than using Restore Points.
My machine that got the 2004 update stills has no ESENT errors though, so I've not needed to use Macrium this time.
Those ESENT errors and others do not have an effect on the system, most are time outs, or windows is checking something.
But have no effect on system.
The only errors for that should concern a user are found in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Security and Maintenance\Reliability Monitor
Does anyone know why Norton 360 won't install on 19041(on a fresh install of W10)? thanks
