Has anyone in the the UK been offered this update yet? I've checked for updates on 4 different machines and no updates are showing so i'm guessing it hasn't been rolled out here yet.
Yes. I'm in the UK, two out of my six machines were offered it immediately it was released.

Not all machines are being offered the 2004 update yet. As with all previous feature updates, there are some known blocking issues for particular hardware/software. Affected machines are blocked from being offered the May 2020 Update until Microsoft have resolved the issues. Check yours against the list in post #1.

When an issue has been resolved, then the block will be lifted and it will be offered to those machines. Manually upgrading using the install media made by the Media Creation Tool bypasses the checks for blocking issues, you do so at your own risk. Safest to wait until it is offered.

    Thanks.

I'm guessing my laptop is probably not being offered it due to it having modern standby but not sure what would be restricting it from my desktop.

I'm gonna be doing a clean install on my desktop tonight anyway as i've been meaning to do it for awhile.

I've also been getting a bunch of ESENT ID 642 errors.

That's really odd. I get no ESENT errors in Home upgraded to 2004.....

...or a clean install of Pro 2004 in a VM.

Mine was a Media Creation Tool ISO update to my 1909 836 Win Pro 64 (I should have the Pro 64 in my sig).

My Home (x64) was upgraded through Windows Update's 'download and install now'. The clean install of Pro (x64) was from an ISO made by the MCT.

It looks like the problem stems from an update rather than a clean install. The thought of a clean install makes me shudder at all the re-installs and customization

Other than a few apparently inoffensive error events I have no problems.

BTW, a few days ago (as an experiment), I upgraded to 2004 using the Upgrade Assistant. The install was smooth and everything worked, with the exception of Sleep/Wake function in 2004. It turned out that the only way to fully wake-up Windows was a Restart, which is unacceptable. I restored 1909 and have had no problems since. After restoring 1909 my PC was updated with the latest AMD graphic drivers, so I’m temped to try my “experiment” again. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

    thanks.

I just checked Windows Update in settings and saw this message...

Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004

The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. We’re offering this update to compatible devices, but your device isn’t quite ready for it. Once your device is ready, you’ll see the update available on this page. There’s nothing you need to do at this time.
Apparently there is some problems yet to be worked out. Now I am glad I rolled my computer back to 1909. Maybe next time I will not be in such a hurry to get the new Windows version.

Note I did not update to version 2004 using the usual automatic Windows Update. I jumped the gun and got the update at the Microsoft Windows 10 Update Assistant site where you have the choice of updating Windows 10 or creating Windows 10 installation media (DVD or USB flash drive).

Now that you are back at version 1909 did you check Windows Update to see if you get the same message as I did? I have an AMD Ryzen CPU and a AMD Radian GPU. Apparently there is something incompatible with my hardware that has to be fixed in Windows 10 before my computer is allowed to get version 2004.

    Hi MisterEd-

Thanks for your response. No, I have not received any messages of any kind from WU, other than my system (1909) is up to date. I agree that MS has problems with AMD-based systems, as I said mine was a corrupted sleep/wake function 2004.
