    Hello.
I am that user referred to with freezing issues with Anti Ramnsonware enabled on Malwarebytes.
The problem started at the same moment that I installed the Windows 2004 version.
It took me a while to discover that Malwarebytes was causing the problem.
I have a Dell XPS 13 9360 with all the drivers updated and Malwarebytes has been running with Windows Defender for a long time ... until that Windows update.
The problem is the freezing of the Browser and then the freezing of several apps at random, but consistently after waking up from sleep mode.
It can work well for a few hours and suddenly happen ... or it can happen several times in a row.
Fast startup off as recommended by Malwarebytes staff.
In fact, it's not just me where the Beta version doesn't solve the problem .... in fact, there are many people on isolated topics.
Some even requested a refund of the license money.
There are collaborators who assume that there is a problem and others who devalue it ... it depends on who answers.
Because I did not like the tone that a collaborator (in Malwarebytes Forum) addressed me ...I abandoning the forum and I will not participate there again.
However the problem is real, turning off Antiramsonware solves the problem immediately.
It remains to wait for an update that will actually solve this irritating problem.
    Best regards.
    Stay safe!
There is a new MBAM Beta just released that may or may not help. Just passing this along.

Yes, I also got that update and it broke it again for me and worse then then before
I wish I could rollback to the previous beta that was working almost fine! Now even with
ransomware protection disabled things are no longer working for me!

    Hello.
Yes ... I didn't even install the new Beta version because the description did not refer to the resolution of this problem.
However, one of the contributors put this on some topics related to this issue:

    "Greetings,
Malwarebytes' Developers are aware of this issue and are continuing to research it in order to get it resolved. Once it has been fixed, a member of the staff will respond to threads of affected users to notify them, so please keep an eye on your email for a notification from the forums. "

It seems that it is better to wait and disable Anti Ramsonware protection for those who have this problem.

PS-@rezpower....maybe you should install the last non Beta version with Anti Ramsonware disable.

    Thanks!
    Regards!

    Thanks a lot cool57,
I have seen your postings on MB forum. But for me after the last beta update even removing ransomware protection is not working! I finally think that I should restore my latest 1909 backup!

I just downloaded the MB-Clean tool from their site and removed malwarebytes from my PC. I cleaned installed it again after removal and strangely it is running fine (Non of the problems I was having are occurring anymore). I am on the latest stable version and no beta! I am going to leave it this way and see how it will be for now!

Have a look at your return codes: 1 or 0x1: Incorrect function called or unknown function called.
2 or 0x2: File not found?

Installing the Beta worked for me, I did that on Monday then yesterday did the download and install again. As soon as it was finished I did a complete shut-down, I left it some time then turned it on again and everything was working as it should be.

Before closing down last night there was an update for .NET Framework so I just clicked update and turn off, it looked as if it was doing a couple of restarts but it did do the shut-down.

Turned on this morning and I got the box for an update for MWB, did that and everything is still working OK, well it is at the moment so fingers crossed it continues that way.
