Both are fully functional, and both are being run in XP compatibility mode.
You said the key phrase right there - "XP compatibility mode". Was just curious how a 20 year old program was still running under Windows 10. Not that its impossible as you show.

The compatibility troubleshooter can make most things run well in the latest W10. Usually you don't even need to run the troubleshooter, W10 will often automatically apply compatibility settings, the first you know about it is a pop-up telling you it has done so.

Yeah, I'm familiar with compatibility mode. That said, (for me), If I have to use compatibility mode it's time to upgrade. That's me

In case the 28th the version is available for installation, I ask you: would it be advisable to proceed with the installation or would it be wiser to pause for a week or two to see how it behaves and to see what those who installed it say about it?

If they don't fix the bugs by then, might as well install it.
They have had about a year of testing with this version.

No worries, I have full system backup I will not be replacing for some time. I'm ready even now for it.

Using the wise choice of having a complete system image backup, as @CountMike does, you can be one of the helpers to provide us feedback and guide others. I'm an Insider, as many others are, so we know pretty much what to expect. But, the proof is in the pudding, nothing like doing it yourself.

Isn't today tomorrow there? Least after 1pm, the Redmond Magic Hour. Maybe "seekers" will see it. Love that term. It's bound to draw attention!
