Hi there
Unless they get this correct it's going to be Windows.RIP edition (RIP eq R.I.P !!!)
I have perfect understanding of the sheer problems of supplying an OS used on so many different bits of hardware around the world and used by all sorts of levels of computer users -- however that does NOT IMO excuse for rushing stuff out of the door - especially if it's almost an RTM version) with so many basic errors in the OS.
People can rabbit on about changed icons and various registry things to mess around with -- but really should domestic users have to fiddle around with this stuff.
Sorry Ms -- fine to put out pre-release software -- users then know the risk of testing etc --but if this is scheduled as essentially RTM stuff (20 May was the original date) then something in your development management teams has gone sadly awry.
Note I really do understand the complexity of delivering a complex product --not simple --that's presumably why people are paid big bucks to ensure it works properly -- however something inside the big Ms empire has failed significantly during the releases of these builds.
Cheers
