I just edited my last post.

I just wanted to know about the installation process.
send Brink a PM and ask him about that - I will not discuss it further here as we're done about that and we're drifting off topic, Mikey89.
edit 5/12, 9:45pm - time to move on Mikey89 -- don't worry about the installation process to 2004 until that is actually released to the public in late May. not everybody will receive v2004 thru WU at the same time; it will be delivered in "waves" or for a select few at first, and then WU will offer it to more qualified users in later weeks and months when MS "refines" the delivery process thru WU.

as for me, I will manually download the KB4556803 update onto my test PC using 2004 release preview and report any issues/problems that I encounter if any

we seen in 2 hours if it is today maybe MCT tool we will see they need to release a patch too
no MCT until maybe between May 26 to May 28

but new CU for 2004 (build 19041.264) released only in slow & RP rings - not yet to the general public

also I think MSDN users are recently getting the new 2004 ISOs with build 19041.208

One change that nearly caught me out: having done the .NET update first it immediately came up with the "restart required" messages plus the button to "restart now". Just about to do that when I noticed it was still doing the updates for KB4556803 which it finished a few minutes later.

Just wondering if the updating had taken place outside my active hours, would it have automatically updated prematurely?

though there is a part of me that wished MS had declared newly released build 19041.264 the "final" RTM for 2004 instead of 19041.208

anyway, those getting 2004 thru WU around end of May will get the 19041.264 version.
the 2004 ISOs that MSDN subscribers are currently getting have build 19041.208 as I recently checked from msdn rg adguard

time for me to create a 2004 ISO from uupdump with .264 and not the .208 build

Well yet another weirdie. had a .NET update plus the CU.

    1. It partly downloaded the CU,.
    2. Downloaded and installed the .NET
    3. Asked for a restart.
    4. After restart picked up on download and install of CU before a second restart.

    Just downloaded and installed.

Got cleaning up message and then was presented with choosing privacy options again...and had to turn them off...again.

EDIT: Can also confirm that optimize drives is still broken. Ran a trim on my SSD, restarted optimize drives and it showed last date/time was trimmed. Restarted and says never optimized again.

Downloaded without incident. Did get the 'Cleanup" message at final reboot. So sad that the defrag issue is still unresolved.
