Is anyone in this thread affected by the problems(?) descibed by TechRadar here: Disastrous new Windows 10 update is causing serious issues for some people | TechRadar
I don't know what they mean really. No problems here.
No issues here, Fredrik. Regarding BSOD, I had a couple of them during the first few months I had my W10, I got it in July 2017 (Version 1607). At the time, I decided to keep track on them as I thought perhaps experiencing BSOD's was going to be part of using W10. But, I had one the day I got the computer (on version 1607) and one in Dec 2017 (on version 1709), and haven't had any since. So, you can say that I haven't had any BSOD since version 1803. My personal experience with updates has been pretty decent. As far as I can remember, I haven't had any major problem caused by any update. I tend to see articles like the one you linked as exaggerations.

I think the issue is that W10 is installed on such a wide range of hardware and software configurations that a few have had issues.
Hi there
This release apart from minor unimportant glitched seems to be OK --unlike the fast ring release where quite a few have problems with Networking
IMO this one looks a far more likely RP release candidate than the "Semi-Official" RP Slow ring one.
Nothing against testing preview / fast / slow ring releases but again IMO anything that even hints at being an RP candidate should have the basic parts of the OS working properly !!!!
BTW I found that problems with UEFI booting the latest ISO's made from UUPDUMP and Rufus V10 was to enable CSM on your BIOS if you have an older UEFI MOBO with that option on -- enable CSM --then it boots just fine. I didn't need that with previous ISO's but probably something to do with the UEFI V2 "Hybrid Boot" being used in these now as default which some older Mobos probably can't handle.

I've been on 2004 release preview for about a month without any issues, apart for a glitch with my Backups running extra copies, (easily solved by a rebuild of the backup plan), I'm now on the following after a second minor though long time to finish update.
The second update took so long to finish that I'd assumed it was the actual 2004 upgrade on the Gold channel
Hi there
@CountMike
I'm using RUFUS for a lot of other ISO's other than purely Windows !!!! Rufus when required will also load the appropriate version of isolinux for hybrid type boots too.
@Barman58
I've been unable to get any NON Windows devices to even see that build (note this one is fine !!!) via File manager (network Browsing) -- e.g NAS servers can't see it. Windows can't also see the NAS servers etc.
KODI on fire stick can't see it (KODI can play videos / streams from remote computers / NAS devices etc through the fire stick using HDMI 4UHD connection where 4K video available) into large screen TV
Others have reported exactly the same error so it's not just me.
Note though for SAMBA shares using version > 4.10.X if you still need SMB1 you now need to specify MIN PROTOCOL = NT1 in the smb.conf as like Windows SMB1 is now by default disabled -- NT1 enables it again.
This isn't though the issue with lack of Network browsing on the fast ring build. Files are acessible via filezilla and sftp but that doesn't help the KODI problem which needs SMB/CIFS access. VLC is the same BTW - PLEX I don't bother with --too much nag and adware.
