    • The First Run Experience (FRE) will auto-launch the first time that a device restarts after the new Microsoft Edge is installed.
    • Data from earlier versions of Microsoft Edge (such as passwords, favorites, open tabs) will be available in the new Microsoft Edge.

Great browser except for once thing...bookmarks keeps messing itself up constantly.

It's about a month since I cleaned up all my bookmarks and today I had to do it again. 8402 duplicates.

I love it a lot those days. I am running the stable version of ChrEdge and not in Windows 10 Preview builds. It has some new features: "Collections", "DoH" (DNS over Https). On top of all, it is running really smooth on my version 1909 (18363.815).

Maybe you could have a look at this extension: Bookmark Sidebar
I use it since it came out (at this time, in SRWare Iron), works really well.

Thanks, but a plugin can't solve the issue with Edge syncing issues. It's very flimsy and unreliable.

Why did this remove all my favorites and history? I needed those. Where do I find them now, system restore didn't help, neither did going to the folder... Is there another way?

If it was the OLD Non Chromium Edge then you may get them back.

FYI you should have exported them before updating.

    Backup always. At least periodically.

You can backup all your favorites by copying the following two files in another location:
    %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Bookmarks
    %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Favicons

To restore, just copy the two files, from your backup location to %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default
