problem is, I didn't update nor was it set to automatic. I went to bed and when I got up the next morning, it had already been updated. This was the second time this happened, first time I used system restore, but that didn't work this time.
I was in the middle of saving history and since I had updates turned off, figured I'd finish saving in the morning....

Looks like the article was updated on May 27, 2020 to add details for Windows 10 version 2004.

I am really confused - I have Edge Version 83.0.478.44 (Official build) (64-bit) whidh I installed previously manually. It indicates up to date. What do I need to do now? I have Windows 10 Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.264) currently installed. MS is succeeding in making this very confusing.

    Hello John,

    Nothing for you to do.

This update replaces the old Microsoft Edge with the new Chromium base Microsoft Edge.

This update will not be available if you have already installed the new Microsoft Edge (stable).
