I think your best course of action would be to update windows 10 with windows 10, telling the upgrade to keep all of your files. It will keep your apps and settings but fresh install windows. I was having windows update failures and Microsoft couldn't fix it. I did this. Took maybe half an hour and the system came up clean, updated to the latest updates, and it is running a few days now without issue. It is a better alternative to a clean install. Take all of the ordinary precautions first ...

    .
If you boot from your install media you will get a Repair option. I've seen it but never used it. I think it says "Repair your PC now". Might be worth a try.

I have no Failed updates on this PC, but I'm pretty sure I have a few on my laptop. Haven't confirmed it yet but I think it happens if I run Windows update manually while its doing updates in the background. Mostly driver updates. next time they run they install fine.

When are they fixing issues with the start menu?
    Do they even know it?
Not unless you give them feedback. :) Not that 150 gazillion peeps with the same problem haven't given feedback already. :)

The way I see it: If it looks like Poo, smells like Poo, feels like Poo, it's P.uesday (Patch Tuesday)
