I have a question about Cloudflare: What's the difference between downloading there app/program and just setting the DNS manually in your settings?

Made backup, got the latest beta installed, ran speedtest, restored backup. Speedtest was much slower for me. No WARP speed here yet. and I already have DOH setup in Firefox and Edge and ESNI in addition on Firefox (all Cloudflare DNS), so no reason for me to have this for now. Hope it improves.
I have installed it and seems working fine, pages load very quickly and can notice the difference, will monitor it for any drawbacks
So if installed Firewall Rules have no effect. I'm using Comodo Firewall.
Can anyone else test their firewall blocking rules?
Any firewall - it doesn't have to be Comodo Firewall.
With Warp connected I ran a blocked application and got an upgrade notification. (it is only seen if the app can connect)
With Warp off the firewall blocks connection like it is supposed to and there is no upgrade notification.
Same goes for other blocked apps. I checked just to be sure.
Ccleaner blocked.
With Warp on it still connects.
Note: Do not try downloading that video editor. It comes bundled with crap.
I'm using an old version that is no longer available with the crap removed/ disabled and it works fine so no need to update.
EDIT: Solved the problem. See:

Are you on the latest available version? They are being released very frequently, almost with daily cadence, so worth checking it.
And no, I've not seen any problems recently. Will re-check later today though.

UPDATE TO ADD: It's all good
The version I use is v1.2.2534 (the latest).

Cloudflare is up to date. If I turn off Cloudflare DNSSEC and TSL 1.3 fail the test. There must be a setting I need to change somewhere.
Ah, of course, this is separate set of settings in the browser... Did you not go trough all this already?
