Yes, it does that - I do witness it on my mobile devices via 1.1.1.1 apps.

Can be a blessing or a curse, especially when you look something up via Google and want to check its price quickly - you get usually non-local results and responses, all priced in $s... Fine with me though.

    Also, the link below:

    Cloudflare ESNI Checker | Cloudflare

suddenly returns 'Your browser did not encrypt the SNI when visiting this page.' Zonk?

I am pretty much sure all was well before (with network.security.esni.enabled having been set to True in FireFox long time ago and remaining that way - just checked).
There are other settings to check. Here's what I get:

Yeah, all set this way long time ago and all used to work as expected prior to installing Cloudflare client.

Alas! It may have been something temporary though - or I did not restart FireFox when Cloudflare client got installed - as it's showing me all is well now.

    @krzemien

    Would you mind checking something?

For me with DOH enabled my HOSTS file is ignored. I just tested again and get the same result.

    I added:

    Code:
    0.0.0.0 www.motors.co.uk motors.co.uk
to my hosts file but it's not blocked with DOH enabled.

Went back to DOH disabled and Quad9 DNS and the site is blocked as it should be.

Interesting... I will do so once I move back to my laptop (currently using my PC, it does not have Cloudflare client installed).

EDIT: With WARP protocol in use all entries in hosts file (added via Spybot Anti-Beacon) are honoured and no connection is made.

Just a though: is your syntax correct?

    Code:
    0.0.0.0 ad.doubleclick.net

Yes. Just copy and paste the line, save, then try to visit that site.

    I get this:

Cloudflare Announcing Beta for WARP for macOS and Windows-server-not-found.jpg

But with DOH enabled I can visit the site, no problem. So hosts file is ignored with DOH enabled.

This greatly effects my download speed on real files but also obviously effects speed test site as of location is not actually mines so not a nearby server.

Also stops the built in SamKnows App detect my router to run a test.

Not sure I see any benefit to my browsing speed.

Quid for quo - as they say.

I am rather boring home user so do not really care if I get 50 or 70 Mb/s - as long as I do not feel the difference (and I currently don't). But yes, speeds are a tad lower than what I would get straight from ISP without this wizardry.

My SamKnows box is connected as an orphan, not as a pass-through device as expected (their router is rather dated - does not have GBe ports - and because SamKnows refused to upgrade it for me, I decided to leave it connected that way) and continues to report normal speeds.
