I am fortunate enough to have been working from home for the past 5 years but it doesnt give me much free time.
I am fortunate enough to have been working from home for the past 5 years but it doesnt give me much free time.
It was in the Optional Updates, I have done 3 updates using WU because I don't have to worry about bricking my laptop.
You might have seen this but anyway have a look at this old post:Introducing Component Firmware Update - Windows Developer Blog
Well, well. They finally claim they fixed this issue which has been around forever (too minor for me to mention it)
We fixed an issue where, after successfully completing the installation of an update and rebooting the device, the Start menu Shutdown button still showed Update and Shutdown and Update and Restart.
BTW Grammerly corrected the text above. I'm in Ubuntu now dudes. I'll get hopping on it in a bit.

Easier said than done dudes. Downloading this incredibly minor update from UUPDUMP now and will install Windows 10 and Windows 10 N in whatever damn virtualization platform I want. I want MS$ to open source Hyper-V - no wait nobody will use it! Right now, when I boot to Windows I can't get this update - because Windows has little to no connectivity. Anybody multibooting with Linux seeing this (no indication from the OS about this problem - at least time sync works (I forced them to fix this 5 years ago as long term patrons of this forum will remember)

I tried a full screen capture (Windows Key/Print Screen) and it acts like its capturing it but there is no file to be found on a full drive search. It works OK on my Production install, V1909, and the capture ends up in the Pictures/Screenshots folder. This is a dual boot PC so its all the same hardware.
OK. Here is the state of the Insider program. As the trite saying goes it gives me no pleasure to say this.
I will need, and have already done, actually to install Ubuntu 20.04 pre-beta in order to burn the UUPDUMP using the great program B brasero (just completed ejecting the cd) so I can make this 5 days worth of work by the grfeatest minds in Redmond (NOT) because I have no connectivitiy whatsoever in my Windows install. Naturally I will have to boot back to Ubuntu to let you all know how it went unless this upgrade fixes it. And no I won't be reporting this to the great Feedback Hub because I can't from Linux.
And you guys flamed me 5 years ago when I said that Windows was a toy operating system since they could not even sync to a time server. Tsk, tsk
Here is proof of success before updating using Ubuntu create ISO from UUPDUMP

Yo be fair to Redmond this updated fixed the long standing time sync problem with Linux while Linux is still working. So no more Toy Story.
