Alas VMware WS 20H1 is incompatible w Windows Server 2019 unless I remove Hyper-V. So I will install Windows 10 Insider later today. Bummer.

    Hi there
watch out for some connectivity / sharing problems with the latest Windows insider -- depending on the gear you connect to Windows the latest security (network) updates can hose your whole network up !!!! --Also I've posted elsewhere -- SAMBA V4.11.X has problems --I know you always like "Leading edge" Software so "You have been warned !! "

    Cheers

    Hi folks
reverted back to this build (not sure what it is on the current fast ring) but all network problems seem to be resolved both with windows and 2 NAS machines where I rolled SAMBA back to 4.10.x

Although it's great that people seem (and want) to have a much bigger awareness of security -- a good thing -- however both Windows and Linux recent network security updates perhaps were made a bit TOO speedily !!!!

any way here's my current Windows build on a network of 4 machines which can connect easily with each other both ways - a remote Windows VM on a Linux host and two NAS machines and a Windows machine.

Please Ms don't break Network again after an update !!!!-- also Samba developers please the same thing !!!!

Well I have openSUSE and Insider installed and now going to install Ubuntu and Fedora. I may leave Arch based distros for VMs.

Anyway a complete reconfiguring is always helpful. My BIOS is pretty nifty. Any problems this build introduced will probably clear out in the next build

Do we know if MS is going to release another update soon or are too many of them in self isolation?

They've all been working from home for several weeks now, and have released builds. Tomorrow or Thursday would not surprise me. Would be the first flight under the new head honcho, Amanda. She may shy away from an April 1st release, though.

I was offered a BIOS update through WU, updated without any issues and I feel comfortable doing it through WU.

I've never had a BIOS update via WU ever.

    Hi folks
With loads more people at Home this would probably be a GOOD time for Ms to issue more releases --there must be zillions of people who have more time to test these releases !!!!

However why on earth would WU offer BIOS updates -- aren't they highly (or completely) dependent of the hardware on the MOBO. I'd avoid any BIOS update from WU or non manufacturers's site -- using BIOS updates from 3rd party sources seems like a good way to "Brick" your machine.

    Cheers
