I don't understand. What does this mean for AHCI & SATA drivers under the device manager? Will it be updated to 17.9 automatically through windows update?
I've never been a fan of Windows Universal Windows Platform UWP apps.
They tend to be buggy or scant in features.
FWIW.
Uhm, nice image Cliff? I asked if it will be updated to 17.9 through windows update, or do I need to wait for the mb manufacturer to provide it? The intel articles says the requirements are
- System must have Windows® 10 1803 or later. Admin privileges required.
- Intel® RST driver must be installed already (Version 17.2.x or later recommended)
But fails to mention if they can be distributed through windows update, unless I am completely missing the obvious, which is quite possible.
HI,
I don't really understand the current chipset drivers anyway
They're just the slowest loading thing on the planet atm. might as well use the ms generic at least you'd not have to see it appear in action center 5 minutes after hitting desktop after restart...
@Faith, if there is even an IRST/AHCI update update for your system depends on the CPU/chipset you have.
For my 9900K & Z370 chipset, current is the one on 1st post.
For my Lenovo with an Intel G3220/H81 chipset the latest is from 2015, and for my laptop with an Intel B960/HM65 chipset the most current IRST is from 2011.
