I was merrily downloding the above build via uup dump when the system suddenly decided to restart which took me completely by surprise. There was no warning . whatsoever.Consequenly I had to dump the files downloaded by uup dump and start afresh. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will not restart again.

Tried safe mode using boot menu legacy mode F8 but back to ordinary lock screen. Msconfig timeout was set to 0, changed to 15 seconds and now comes up with the older screen boot menu. Nice one Ms

Failed with WU, ISO, remove all external drives, and restore to previous version before update.

Did a bounce at about 21% install, I knew that was not good news. Got going again and a Restart rolled it back. Fired up the ISO and all went thru fine, first time, no boo-boos. Thought we were done with all that ping-pong garbage.

As you can see I'm well and truly stuck TC. Maybe time for a clean install. This VM hasn't been reinstalled since the Technical Preview so it's overdue. On the other hand I could just leave it until next week's release.

Might just as well do a clean install. I'd still have to reinstall programs and then the update, not that I've got many. Just MR and Open Shell, Everything else is portable on another disk.

    Download 2 mins....Install 33 mins.....Restart, Config, Update to Desktop 15 mins....Total time taken 50 mins.

None of this malarkey suggested by a member "with a wonderful imagination" that should send my computer to M$ as he thinks I have too many problems.
